My honorary activity in the DIG (German-Italian Association)

Since I came to Giessen in 2004, I’ve been active in the German-Italian Association of Central Hesse (DIG) (www.dig-mittelhessen.de), where I can pursue my interest in culture and I can promote many aspects of my native country beyond common places. In 2008 and in the following years I was elected as the Person Responsible for the Press and Public Relations in the Board.

This honorary activity is very important for me, also as a professional experience. I write and spread press releases and articles about our events, prepare the texts for the website and their translation into Italian, created and manage the Association’s Facebook page. I also participate to the Board meetings, take the minutes, represent the DIG at official appointments of other institutions and cooperate in preparing our program in contents and layout. Furthermore, I work at the whole organisation of our events together with the other Board members, from the reservations of the rooms to the on-the-spot presence, from the assistance of our Italian and German guests to the realization of flyers and PowerPoint presentations.

Finally, I am responsible for particular projects, such as producing our booklet about the story of the DIG on the occasion of its 25th anniversary (2009), planning and carrying out the charity “Project Parmesan” to help the earthquake refugees in the region Emilia-Romagna (2012) as well as “round tables” about different topics (experiences abroad, presentation of my town Como) and conferences (“Die Capri-Fischer…: Italienschlager und Italienbild”).
